SXM Local News: These Saint Martin Beaches (French Side) are Designated Safe For Swimming

You may have noticed that I haven’t been as actively posting over the last couple of weeks, and there’s a good reason for that. You see, I’m a Cubs fan and, in addition to SXM Strong, I run a Cubs blog called Cubs Insider. I’ve been busy traveling between Los Angeles and Chicago to follow the Cubs on what I was hoping would be another journey to the World Series. As you probably know, it wasn’t to be, so now I’m back home.

That’s a long way of saying that I’m back and will be much more diligent about posting more often here, on SXM Strong. And, as always, thank you for following along!

Saint Martin Beaches

The other day I published a post that listed Sint Maarten beaches (Dutch Side) that are safe for swimming. It’s only apropos that I also publish the Saint Martin beaches (French side) that have, likewise, been declared safe for swimming. So far, there have been five beaches that have been identified as safe.

Those beaches are:

  • Friar’s Bay
  • Grand Case
  • Orient Bay South
  • Galisbay
  • Anse Marcel

I fell in love with the island of Saint Martin the first time I visited to celebrate my 40th birthday in May of 2009. Since then, I've spent most birthdays there, and have visited countless other times getting to know this wonderful place and the friendly locals that make it so special. I adore the culture, the people, the community, and the beauty of this stunning island. SXM Strong is a website that I started to support humanitarian relief efforts following Hurricane Irma. There was no plan, it just evolved as I witnessed the devastation that Irma caused the island and the huge need to communicate and disseminate information about what had happened and how people could help support this island and its people.
