SXM Local News: Air France Announces SXM Service Via Guadeloupe, Two Non-Stop Flights to SXM

Often times when a natural disaster hits there’s an initial surge of news coverage and information, followed by what sometimes feels like a drop off a cliff. For days on end, it’s all you hear about and then, just as quickly as it happened, there’s a trickle of information, at best.

That’s exactly the situation that SXM Strong is committed to avoid. We’re focused on the complete recovery of Sint Maarten and we’re not going anywhere, for a long time.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get to the situation at hand.

Air France provided an update on service to SXM earlier this week (read here). Today there was a bit more information that includes a slight change to the original guidance.

First, there are now two non-stop, one-off flights that will operate between Paris (CDG) and SXM.

CDG-SXM:

December 23, 2017, 10:30 AM – 2:50 PM

January 6, 2018, 10:30 AM – 2:50 PM

SXM-CDG:

December 24, 2017, 4:50 PM – 6:10 AM

January 7, 2018, 4:40 PM – 6:10 AM

In addition, Air France will offer non-stop service between Paris-Orly (ORY) and Guadeloupe (PTP) with a connection via Air Antilles to L’Espérance Airport in Grand Case. Contact Air France for more information.

I fell in love with the island of Saint Martin the first time I visited to celebrate my 40th birthday in May of 2009. Since then, I've spent most birthdays there, and have visited countless other times getting to know this wonderful place and the friendly locals that make it so special. I adore the culture, the people, the community, and the beauty of this stunning island. SXM Strong is a website that I started to support humanitarian relief efforts following Hurricane Irma. There was no plan, it just evolved as I witnessed the devastation that Irma caused the island and the huge need to communicate and disseminate information about what had happened and how people could help support this island and its people.
