Saint Martin’s Day is a Time to Celebrate and Share the Pride of this Beautiful Island – #SXMStrong

Saint Martin was known as a kind and gentle soul. He is regarded as a friend of the children and patron of the poor. Saint Martin’s Day is celebrated in countries around the world on November 11. It is a day to celebrate and share culture and love of country.

In Sint Maarten, it’s an especially meaningful day today as the country continues to reel from the effects of Hurricane Irma. Grappled by governmental failure, today is a day that the people can take to the streets to show their pride in their beautiful country and remind the world that Sint Maarten is strong and they will be back better than ever!

Here are a few tributes I found on Facebook that I wanted to share.

I fell in love with the island of Saint Martin the first time I visited, more than 10 years ago! Since then, I've spent a lot of time here getting to know this wonderful place and the friendly locals that make it so special. I adore the culture, the people, the community, and the beauty of this stunning island. SXM Strong is a website where I share my thoughts and love about Saint-Martin (French side) and Sint Maarten (Dutch side) with the world. I hope you enjoy it!
