Buccaneer Beach Bar to Reopen Sunday April 18 with Live Music By Arrow William

Buccaneer Beach Bar has announced — per project launch and marketing manager, Martha Marsden — that they will be re-opening on Sunday, April 18, 2021, under new ownership. Yes, the same great location on Kim Sha Beach in Simpson Bay will once again be the go-to bar for locals and tourists looking to chill and enjoy great food and drinks just minutes away from Princess Juliana International Airport.

The new owners, Dudley and Reza, are also partners in Sunset Beach Bar and Motorworld, respectively.

Buccaneer Beach Bar closed on March 18, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. They remained closed for the entire year and recently underwent a change in ownership. The new owners are excited to continue to use the “Buccaneer Beach Bar” name, which has built a great reputation as a local, family-friendly bar and restaurant.

This Sunday, April 18, musician Arrow William — who is of French and Nigerian descent — will perform different types of music from jazz to Motown soul, pop, French music, R&B, Blues, and more.

The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner, with plans to eventually serve breakfast. The menu will initially feature simple, traditional beach bar fare — burgers, salads, and ribs — with more items to be added over the following weeks. Live music will be featured on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday once the bar is fully operational following the soft launch.

In addition, there are plans to expand waterfront dining to the area that currently serves as ground-level parking. That is planned for January 2022 and will provide patrons with a much larger dining and drinking area to enjoy the gorgeous views of Simpson Bay. There are also plans to add beach cabanas soon. All this in addition to the nearby water activities that are already available, like jet ski rentals.

I fell in love with the island of Saint Martin the first time I visited to celebrate my 40th birthday in May of 2009. Since then, I've spent most birthdays there, and have visited countless other times getting to know this wonderful place and the friendly locals that make it so special. I adore the culture, the people, the community, and the beauty of this stunning island. SXM Strong is a website that I started to support humanitarian relief efforts following Hurricane Irma. There was no plan, it just evolved as I witnessed the devastation that Irma caused the island and the huge need to communicate and disseminate information about what had happened and how people could help support this island and its people.
